The assessment is independently peer reviewed at the Review Workshop. The product of the Review Workshop is a Summary documenting Panel opinions regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the stock assessment and input data. Participants for SEDAR Workshops are appointed by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, NOAA Fisheries Southeast Regional Office, and NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center. Participants include data collectors and database managers; stock assessment scientists, biologists, and researchers; constituency representatives including fishermen, environmentalists, and NGO's; International experts; and staff of Councils, Commissions, and state and federal agencies.    SEDAR 31 Data Workshop data scoping webinar:

Participants will determine red snapper data sets deemed appropriate for consideration for use in the stock assessment process. All known and available data sets may be offered for consideration. Preliminary decisions with respect to the utility of each data set will be made during the data scoping webinar, and participant recommendations will be forwarded along to the Data Workshop (to be held at a later date).
